Guidebooks
Unless you have the Bouldr iPhone app, then Guidebooks are not going to be of much use to you right now.
With Guidebooks, we can define an area on a map to synchronise with the iPhone app. This allows the app to be used in areas where there is no mobile Internet, which, as you’ll probably already know, is pretty much anywhere outside of a populated area.

The Guidebook Editor
The Guidebook editor allows you to enter a name for the location you are selecting as well as allowing you to draw a polygon around the area itself. The search box on the top right of the editor lets you search the map for locations.

Drawing the area
To draw the polygon that describes the area, all you need to do is single click on the map to add a point. You’ll need to draw at least three points for the guidebook to be valid, and you should ensure that the region you are selecting isn’t too big, as all of the climbs in the selected region (including the images) will be downloaded you your phone when you synchronise with Bouldr.
To remove a point, simply single click on it, and it will be deleted. To move an existing point, click and drag it to it’s new location. At the moment, new points will be added after the last point that was added. This will change in future versions.
Managing your Guidebooks
Once you have added a guidebook, editing it is simple – go to your guidebooks, and click the edit button underneath it’s name to bring up the guidebook editor again. You can also delete guidebooks from your account by clicking the delete button.
